Frequently asked questions

How do I test my internet speed?

Open the speed test on any device with a modern browser, press the Start button and keep the tab in focus for around 30 seconds. The test measures your ping and jitter first, then runs parallel download and upload streams against the nearest edge server.

Is this internet speed test free?

Yes. The speed test is completely free, needs no account, no app and no extension. It runs entirely in your browser and the page is supported by advertising.

What is a good internet speed?

For everyday browsing and video calls, 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is the widely accepted baseline. Online gaming needs low ping and low jitter, while 4K streaming and large downloads need 100 Mbps or more.

Why is my measured speed lower than the speed in my plan?

The most common causes are Wi-Fi signal loss, other devices using bandwidth, an outdated router, or a VPN adding overhead. Run the test twice on a wired connection with other downloads paused — the two results should then agree closely with your plan.

How accurate is the speed test result?

The test opens up to six parallel connections per phase and reports total bytes transferred divided by elapsed time, which is the true sustained average rather than a momentary peak. Results are measurements, not guarantees of your provisioned speed.

Does the speed test work on mobile phones?

Yes. It works on any device with a modern browser, including iOS and Android smartphones. Note that mobile results reflect your mobile data or Wi-Fi connection, whichever is active.
